7 Ways to Use Tropical Decor in Your Home

Flip through our catalog and you'll likely notice how inspired we were by the tropics. Palm leaves, vibrant greens, seaside details, and woven textures. We're big believers that your home should offer you an escape, so why not bring some vacation style home with you? Here are our favorite ways.

1. Tropical Textures

Rattan is a vine that grows in the tropical regions of Asia and Australia. The material itself always brings an island vibe to a space, so we used our Suzanne Kasler Southport Rattan Collection to do just that. We paired it with a natural fiber rug and lightweight bedding.

2. Perfect Palms

Faux palm leaves are an easy way to inject summer into your room. We filled a large urn with palm leaves on an entry table, but we believe they can work in any room!

Resort Vibes

Just because you can't go on vacation, doesn't mean you can't infuse touches of resort living into your day-to-day life. One of the easiest places to incorporate elements of a tropical resort is your bedroom. We added some airy drapes, crisp white sheets, touches of rattan, and palm leaf artwork to enhance a nightly stay at home.

4. On the Wall

While our Green Turtle Cay Art has a decidedly beachy vibe, this piece is classic enough to work year round and in any room. Art isn't something most of us change for the seasons, so we love art pieces that can work in cooler months too.

5. All About the Mix

While everything in this room isn't necessarily a texture from a tropical space, it certainly seems that way when paired with a coastal color scheme and woven elements. Look for pieces (some of which you may already have around your house) in natural finishes that feel organic. We bet that with the right accents, you'll see old favorites in a new way.

6. Happy Accents

Don't overlook the details. Whether it's coastal art, braided trays, or light and airy fabric, bring personality into your room with small touches that can bring a smile to your face.

7. A Fresh Take

For a little less commitment, consider bringing in fresh items to use as a centerpiece for a dinner party. A bowl of citrus or even coconuts can brighten up your space.

On this table, we used a fresh palm leaf under a bamboo-bordered dinner plate. It has a striking shape and color on the table, and it's an inexpensive touch that will delight your guests.
